The Mission Society provides global missionary support through missionary recruiting, missionary training and equipping church leaders and others to lead international and short-term mission trips. Based in Norcross, GA, The Mission Society was originally formed to support Methodist missionaries, but now works with a variety of Wesleyan denominations offering missionary training, missionary seminars, missionary workshops and church leadership training throughout the United States and around the world.

Lauren Helveston

Director for Pastoral Care
Lauren is Director of Pastoral Care. His responsibilities include; initiating and developing a pastoral care model and ministries for The Mission Society community including missionaries and home office staff that will enable proactive and responsive care. He and his wife, Jo Ann, served as a missionaries to Ghana, West Africa for three years. They hope to invest in and enhance the lives of The Mission Society's ministering community so that they may have even more effective and enduring ministries among those they serve. Their goal is to be intercessors, encouragers, resourcers, and refreshers to the hearts of The Mission Society community. Some of the primary things they do to carry out this pastoral care role include; proactive communication, attentiveness to personal needs and issues, field visits, relationship building, and enlisting others to be pastoral-care givers.
