The Mission Society provides global missionary support through missionary recruiting, missionary training and equipping church leaders and others to lead international and short-term mission trips. Based in Norcross, GA, The Mission Society was originally formed to support Methodist missionaries, but now works with a variety of Wesleyan denominations offering missionary training, missionary seminars, missionary workshops and church leadership training throughout the United States and around the world.

Adam & Jennifer Dalenburg

Field: Senegal
Home State: South Carolina
Children: Joseph, Samuel & James

FIRST STEPS:

We are the first family for The Mission Society in Senegal, West Africa. We are firming up our language skills and looking deeper into the culture (95% Muslim). We are taking the steps to officially establish The Mission Society in Senegal.

We are networking with other missionaries, agencies, and NGO's to get a picture of the work already being done in Senegal.
MINISTRY OVERVIEW:

For our ministry in Senegal, we use the phrase Transformational Development (TD) through Wholistic Ministry (WM). TD is helping people change by self-discovery of their felt needs and together find solutions. WM is ministering to the Whole body through health, education, appropriate technology (agriculture, water, training…) and micro-enterprise / micro-loans.

We are helping the Senegalese discover who they are in Christ and make positive life style changes to further the body of Christ.
IMMEDIATE IMPACT:

We are attending the United Methodist Church of Thies. Adam has been asked to preach at two UMC churches on a monthly basis (trying to preach in French and contextualizing his messages). Jennifer is participating weekly in a nutrition program for mothers and their young children (French, Wolof, and culture). Her main focus is homeschooling our two younger boys. We are facilitating a weekly bible study with a diverse group of seekers and new believers (multi-language / multi-cultural).

PRAYER REQUESTS:

1. Infusion of the Holy Spirit to help in language and culture

2. Direction for our ministry and establishing a strong foundation in Senegal for The Mission Society

3. Increase in our financial gifts

We invite you to consider joining us in our ministry to Senegal, West Africa. We cannot do this work alone.
