The Mission Society provides global missionary support through missionary recruiting, missionary training and equipping church leaders and others to lead international and short-term mission trips. Based in Norcross, GA, The Mission Society was originally formed to support Methodist missionaries, but now works with a variety of Wesleyan denominations offering missionary training, missionary seminars, missionary workshops and church leadership training throughout the United States and around the world.

Caring for Missionaries

When they are on the field:
  1. PRAY for them specifically and share your prayer requests with them.
  2. Write letters or email them.
  3. Remember their birthdays with cards or gifts.
  4. Send articles related to their favorite sports teams or special interests.
  5. Send photographs.
  6. Send information about church news or mail sermon tapes.
  7. Look for ways the church or a small group could support their outreach or contribute to their project. Recruit a team to help on the field!
While they are in the States on Homeland Assignment:
  1. PRAY for their transition, rest and recuperation and time with family and friends.
  2. Help them coordinate housing needs.
  3. Help with finding a vehicle to use during their time at home.
  4. Help with financial assistance while in the States due to the high cost of living compared to many areas of the world.
  5. Gather information on school systems for their children while in the area.
  6. Collect donated furniture, clothes and other items the family can use that they were unable to bring from the field.
  7. Recommend doctors, dentists, banks, mechanics, etc.
